Welcome To Our School

School Mission:  The mission statement of the Glendive Public Schools is to prepare students to become productive citizens in a democratic society, through partnership with home and community schools and will provide an equal opportunity for all students to become independent learners.

School's Core Beliefs:

* We believe that every attempt should be made to      maintain the dignity of both the adult and the student

*We believe that students should be guided and engaged in the problem solving process.

*We believe that students should be given the opportunity to make decisions and live with the results, whether the consequences are good or bad, within reason-providing the foundation for being a life-long problem solver.  Responsibile adults do not allow students to make life-threatening decisions.

*We believe that school problems should be handled by school personnel and that criminal activity should be referred to the proper authorities.

*We believe that there should be a logical connection between misbehavior and resulting consequences.

*We believe that parents should acknowledge, discuss, and impose consequences when their child misbehaves at school.

All parents and visitors MUST check in at the office. Please do NOT go directly to the classrooms.  This is for the safety of the students and staff.  Thank you!

The Glendive School District has started implementing the Montana Common Core Standards. These standards were developed from the Common Core State Standards, an initiative of the National Governor’s Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers.  The Common Core standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them.  The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. We look forward to working with you this school year as we implement the Common Core Standards.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to talk with your child’s teachers, as they will be able to describe the instruction associated with your child’s specific grade level.
